Earthlore
offers rich, authentic wilderness experiences to families,
youth
and adults.
Through
summer camps, workshops and excursions, we share ancient wilderness
skills and a deep knowledge and appreciation of the local wilds.
We infuse these experiences with songs and stories, history and
a sense of fun.
Our goal is to enrich lives and help nurture lasting and
joyful relationships to nature.
Our programs offer activities such as travelling in a real
birch bark canoe, primitive fire-making techniques, wild-crafting
baskets, bows and arrows, learning animal tracks and birdsongs.
Unlike many outdoor activities that require expensive equipment
and gear, we teach people how to recognise and appreciate the
resources all around us, whether in an urban backyard, city park
or national forest. The teachings in our programs allow individuals
to connect with nature in a profound way, enabling them to recognize
and appreciate the value of their natural surroundings on a new
level.
A pine tree can become a familiar friend; providing shade in spring,
teas full of vitamins, lovely basket materials, a watertight container,
shelter and emergency food source...
